After 2 previous sessions, we are now happy to announce the third Expert Session together with Perfect Web Team, this time with as topic multilinguality and internationalization. The session will take place on June 26th 2015 in Almere, The Netherlands. Here's what you will get:
A fresh topic: Languages in Joomla
The first Expert Session was about Joomla usability, the second session dealt with templating. This third session will start with a topic that has never been covered well enough: Dealing with multiple languages, or multilinguality. We believe there is a lot to tell about languages in Joomla: Not only on how to setup a Joomla site with multiple languages (for instance, English and Dutch). But also explaining how charactersets really work, what kind of UTF-8 encodings are out there, and how to help translating strings for the Joomla core and Joomla extensions.
Covering the basics and diving into the deep
With Expert Sessions, we aim to cover both the basics and the advanced topics. With multilinguality, this means explaining in-depth how languages are organized in Joomla and how they should be working: The correlation of the Language Switcher module and the Language System Plugin; the workings of Item Associations; modifying the switcher HTML. But we also focus on many other subjects, that will help you understand how languages work and how they integrate in Joomla: RTL and LTR, computer-based translations like Google Translate, translator services, the list goes on.
In for a day of learning and fun?
